Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay?

I have been seeing another counselor.

Can I see you too?

I can co-work with another therapist, as long as the other therapist is comfortable with this. Please contact me to discuss your situation so we can decide if this approach is right for you.

Clients are expected to pay for sessions at the time of service. I accept Visa, Mastercard, debit cards, Health Savings Accounts, cash, and checks.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance directly. I can give you a form to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many insurance companies will accept these, though you will need to contact your company to check on their policy.

Yes. I have worked with clients on many issues, including:

  • anorexia and bulimia

  • cross-cultural counseling

  • HIV and AIDS

  • living with illness and disability

  • death and dying

  • LGBTQ+ issues

  • addiction (12-step friendly)

  • sleep problems

Can you see me if I don't have an

eating problem or history of trauma?

I usually meet with clients weekly for four to six weeks after an initial one-hour assessment.

For clients receiving hypnotherapy, sessions can sometimes be one and a half hours.

After this preliminary period, some clients opt to come every two weeks.

How long and how frequent

are therapy sessions?

The overall length of therapy varies. Some clients feel that they receive what they need in a few sessions; others work over a longer time period to make the changes they want. There is no typical time period, but I will check in with you to see if you are still getting what you need from therapy.

How many sessions will I need?

50--55 minutes $175

80-85 minutes $225

Couples and Family Sessions
